Louisiana Troopers Intercept 200 Pounds of Weed Headed for Atlanta

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WDSU) — A traffic stop on Interstate 12 near Hammond netted approximately 200 pounds of marijuana earlier this week.
The Louisiana State Police said troopers arrested Texas resident Matthew Llanas Monday morning near on I-12 near mile marker 40.
According to the LSP, troopers stopped the Ford truck he was driving after he committed a traffic violation. A K-9 with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office was brought in to investigate the vehicle, which turned up the 200 pounds of marijuana.

Troopers said the marijuana has a street value of $200,000. It is believed that Llanas was transported the drugs to Atlanta, according to the LSP.
Llanas was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. He faces a possession with intent to distribute marijuana charge.
