Arkansas Senate Rejects Bill to Ban Smoking of Medical Marijuana
Legislation that would have banned smokeable medical marijuana in Arkansas has failed to pass the Senate, but may come up at a later date.
Marijuana reform activists have made great strides in Arkansas. In November of 2016 Arkansas voters overwhelmingly approved Issue 6, otherwise known as the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment. The passage of Issue 6 gave the Arkansas Department of Health up to 120 days to adopt rules for patients, and gave the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division oversight of cultivation and distribution of medical marijuana in the state.
